NIO: The New Intelligence of Organizations for the Future of Companies and Organizations

Today, AI is at the center of discussions about organizations in general, and particularly economic organizations. The topic often highlights the human-machine relationship, as technology is no longer merely seen as a tool extending the capabilities of its users but as a potential competitor or alternative to humans themselves.
This issue directly involves those responsible for leadership in every organization.
Yet, few have explored the connection between AI and the evolution of leadership.
I aim to take on this challenge. After discussing and writing about “ignorant leadership” and “evolved leadership,” I believe the time has come to make a genuine leap forward.
In fact, I see no alternative to this need for advancing leadership. I am convinced that artificial intelligence can play a pivotal role in this transition—provided that organizational models are redesigned from the ground up.
In today’s landscape, marked by continuous technological and cultural transformations, the NIO model (New Intelligence of Organizations) serves as a guide for rethinking organizations. Based on the book NIO – Nuova Intelligenza Organizzativa (Pendragon Editions, released in Italy in 2024), this model blends innovation, sustainability, and the empowerment of people.
